Would you like a business card?

Saturday, April 24, 2010

So I've been thinking that I need to get much better about carrying my business cards around and handing them out to people! Because I haven't been doing this, and haven't made my husband do it as well, I may have let an opportunity pass me by. :( As my husband was standing in line at the post office doing my last mailing, a lady commented on the envelopes he was holding. He made certain that she knew he didn't create all those labels and proceeded to promote me - I love my husband! She asked for my web address, but with the dashes in there, and so much to remember, I doubt she'll ever find me. If only he had a business card! ...and don't you think I haven't stocked his wallet with several since that day! I have also stocked my stash thanks to this super cute business card holder I just ordered from Quiltish. Allissa Jacobs creates all kinds of cute bags, pouches, baby bibs, and more - be sure to check out her Etsy shop! I just love how this card holder is the same colors as Social-o-logy. :)

....and just in case you want a business card, here it is! ...well, in electronic format anyway. If you'll let me, I'll stash your wallet too. :)

Thanks again to Dumplin Design Studio for the blog and business card design!!

Bottles, Bibs, & Crawfish!

Monday, April 19, 2010

Its spring time in Texas and that can only mean 2 things – Babies and Crawfish!

I must know more people with spring birthdays than any other season. Point in case, I have been invited to 3 different baby showers + 2 birthdays this coming Saturday. That’s a lot of births! I have also noticed an increase in signage for various crawfish boils around the city – they’re everywhere!

So a Baby Shower + Crawfish Boil = BRILLIANT! :) …and that’s exactly what friends and family of the Simmons will be doing come May 15th

Junae contacted me a few weeks back about creating a custom invitation for her sister’s baby shower. She told me that the goal was to incorporate the colors of the baby’s room – blue, brown and red (LOVE), and make it clear that it is a crawfish boil + baby shower.

I started out thinking about how we could tie these 2 things together. I think with a little imagination and creativity, there has to be a way to tie just about anything together! So with this one I thought bibs! People wear bibs to crawfish boils and of course babies own tons of them! ;-) I then thought bottles! Bottles of hot sauce, Baby bottles – you get the picture!

When I presented Junae with the idea, she told me that her family and she are loyal consumers of Crystal Hot Sauce – ding, ding, ding! That’s what we’re doing  then! I would of course be lying if I said I didn’t present them with a few other ideas - I just can’t help myself sometimes - but from the outcome, I’m very glad we headed the direction we did!

I definitely have to give her and her family credit for the super cute saying. I came up with several – including a whole poem incorporating the crawfish boil/ baby shower – but the final saying was all them! It’s the beauty of custom design. I get to work with you to make your invitation a reflection of you!!

P.S. I also do labels and mailings to make your life easier. You just have to send me your address list and I’ll do the rest!

Please stay tuned for a Vegas bachelorette invitation I’m working on for Junae! I have to say, I’m really loving this one!  :)
