It's A Boy!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

I have been wanting to make circle invites for some time now. I love experimenting with different shapes and styles of invites! This invitation was made for my best friend's sister-in-law, who is expecting a baby boy. :) I was so glad when Angee agreed to let me make these for the shower! They fit perfectly in an aqua square envelope that matched the rattle on the invite. I also made return labels for Angee that used the same rattle.

Pictures of the banner and stickers to come! ...I just want to wait until after the shower, so they can be a surprise for everyone attending. You guys have so much fun and congratulations, Lorie!

Bottles, Bibs & Crawfish - The Shower!

Thursday, June 17, 2010

So if you remember a couple of months back, I created the invitation pictured here for a baby shower/ crawfish boil. Junae, the hostess, was nice enough to share these photos from the actual shower. (Thanks, Junae)!

I absolutely LOVE that cake! Made by It's A Piece of Cake right here in Houston! Basically she turned my invitation into a cake – talent, pure talent! …and pure awesomeness to see my invitation turned into a cake! The banner and cupcake toppers were made by me to coordinate with the invite. :)

Thanks again, Junae for allowing me to be a part of your sister’s baby shower! I still think this is one awesome baby shower idea!

Bottles, Bibs, & Crawfish!

Monday, April 19, 2010

Its spring time in Texas and that can only mean 2 things – Babies and Crawfish!

I must know more people with spring birthdays than any other season. Point in case, I have been invited to 3 different baby showers + 2 birthdays this coming Saturday. That’s a lot of births! I have also noticed an increase in signage for various crawfish boils around the city – they’re everywhere!

So a Baby Shower + Crawfish Boil = BRILLIANT! :) …and that’s exactly what friends and family of the Simmons will be doing come May 15th

Junae contacted me a few weeks back about creating a custom invitation for her sister’s baby shower. She told me that the goal was to incorporate the colors of the baby’s room – blue, brown and red (LOVE), and make it clear that it is a crawfish boil + baby shower.

I started out thinking about how we could tie these 2 things together. I think with a little imagination and creativity, there has to be a way to tie just about anything together! So with this one I thought bibs! People wear bibs to crawfish boils and of course babies own tons of them! ;-) I then thought bottles! Bottles of hot sauce, Baby bottles – you get the picture!

When I presented Junae with the idea, she told me that her family and she are loyal consumers of Crystal Hot Sauce – ding, ding, ding! That’s what we’re doing  then! I would of course be lying if I said I didn’t present them with a few other ideas - I just can’t help myself sometimes - but from the outcome, I’m very glad we headed the direction we did!

I definitely have to give her and her family credit for the super cute saying. I came up with several – including a whole poem incorporating the crawfish boil/ baby shower – but the final saying was all them! It’s the beauty of custom design. I get to work with you to make your invitation a reflection of you!!

P.S. I also do labels and mailings to make your life easier. You just have to send me your address list and I’ll do the rest!

Please stay tuned for a Vegas bachelorette invitation I’m working on for Junae! I have to say, I’m really loving this one!  :)

Introducing Mack Wallace Dunn!

Saturday, February 6, 2010

My latest project... Welcoming Baby Mack Wallace Dunn into this world! I felt completely honored when his mom, Gina Dunn, contacted me to make his baby announcements. After all, this is the first introduction of Mack that many of his friends and family will receive. He is such a precious little guy and an amazing blessing to his family.

...and his mom, well she's an amazing artist! You can check out her work here. I can only imagine how she must inspire her children, because she inspires me with her creative talents and the ability to balance family with running her own art studio/ Etsy business. I look forward to learning a thing or two from her! :)

Congratulations, Gina, Craig, Annabella, and Callum!
