I love me some TCBY! :)

A couple of months back, I was interviewed by Gina Dunn for her blog series "Thursday's Other Creative Soul." It was such an honor to be included in the segment. I have completed a couple of projects for the Dunn's and enjoyed working with Gina immensely on both! If you interested in reading the interview, you can click here. :)

...and the point about being passionate about TCBY - check this out.   I realized today I might have a serious addiction. The sad thing, each one of these are the same thing -  Peanut Butter Delight - Mmmm!!! I seriously think they put something in this stuff besides milk and live active cultures. It's an addiction! It doesn't help that the girl behind the counter told me the other day, "our yogurt has more live active cultures than Dannon and other standard yogurts." I'm in trouble! All you have to do is tell me that its good for me and I'll be eating it every single day! I recently became vegetarian and this is pretty much the only thing that is keeping me from becoming vegan. (The vegetarian choice was made was after watching "Food Inc." and reading "The Kind Diet", but that's a whole other blog post in itself)!

Anyway, enough about that! Check out the interview, Gina's amazing work, and her EtsyTCBY.  ...and planning my next trip to the gym! :) shop! While you do that, I'll be enjoying a bowl of

*Note: You're probably thinking TCBY still exists?? If you are - GO! I think it's a ton better than it used to be - obviously. ;-) Also, so you don't leave with an image of me sitting down with all 3 tubs of yogurt, I only have this much because there isn't a TCBY very close to me anymore. I just stock up each time I go!

Landon is 2!

What an exciting project this was to complete! My nephew, Landon, just turned 2 last week and I created the invitations, centerpieces, and gift tags for his birthday party. The theme - Curious George! ...very fitting if you know Landon! :)

When the Curious George theme was decided upon, my sister and I both agreed that banana splits should be served at the party. Monkey, bananas - get it? :) ...and hence the reason there is a banana split on the invite! My sister also dressed up as the "Woman in the Yellow Hat" by wearing a spray painted sombrero. Yes, yes, we know its supposed to be the "Man in the Yellow Hat," but neither my brother-in-law, husband, dad or any other man at the party volunteered for the part!

Pictured above are 4 of the centerpieces I created. We filled each one with bananas, in addition to the red shredded paper. The bananas were later used for the banana splits. ...and I guess you can tell from the picture of Landon that dessert time was obviously a hit! Oh the joys of being 2 and being able to smother your face with cake AND banana splits!! :)

On a side note, if you have kids, I highly recommend the Curious George soundtrack. I'm a big Jack Johnson fan and will gladly listen to it with my nephews any time they want. If only more singers like him made children's cds!

Thanks to Kelley and Chris for allowing me to help plan Landon's 2nd birthday! You guys did a great job on his party, as you do with everything. Jay and I can only hope to be parents as good as you two someday! ...and we can only hope to have children as cute!!

*On a side note, this is the first of 2 "character" parties that will be featured on my blog. However, it is against copyright laws to sell these images, so please convince your children to have theme parties instead of character parties! ;-) I'm actually in the process of begging my 5 year old nephew to have a "clown" party next October. How fun would a circus theme be?!"
